-A short Bio for a not so short last name-

(Pronounced Dee-doh-many-can-toe-nee-oh) 

Montreal born and Ottawa raised Steffi DiDomenicantonio is a bilingual Dora Award nominated performer who has appeared on stages and screens across Canada and the United States for over the past decade. 

Steffi is your average Italian French Canadian musical theatre nerd slash Liza Minnelli lookalike who loves crafting, karaoke and poutine, all at once or separately and in no particular order. And just in case you were wondering, her last name is 16 letters and 8 syllables and she was named after the tennis player Steffi Graf.

Steffi most recently performed the role of “Janice and Others” in the Broadway smash hit Come From Away in Toronto 861 times, in 4 different theatres and 3 provinces, entertaining over one million audience members over the span of 3 years. From 2008 to 2010, she toured North America in the first Broadway National Tour of Spring Awakening in the role of “Ilse”, performing the show over 600 times in 44 different cities. She was also the Top 5 finalist on Season 4 of Canadian Idol, which is where she acquired the nickname Steffi D. During her time on the show, she worked and performed with artists such as Cindy Lauper, Nelly Furtado, Dennis DeYoung, Roger Hodgson, Martina McBride and Chantal Kreviazuk.

Her other notable selected theatre credits include: Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Cinderella in Cinderella, which garnered her a Dora Award nomination, Natalie in Next to Normal, Wendy in Peter Pan in Wonderland, Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, Monica in Rooms, the world premiere of Bittergirl: The Musical, the bilingual multimedia show Five Faces for Evelyn Frost, among others. Steffi was nominated for Performer of the Decade in the 2020 BroadwayWorld Toronto Awards.

Steffi has also appeared on the small screen as Shellers in CBC’s Crawford created by Trailer Park Boys’ Mike Clattenburg as well as Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, starring Gordon Pinsent and Jill Hennessy, Saving Hope, Learning to Love Again, Workin’ Moms, Lost Girl, Nikita, Private Eyes, The Rick Mercer Report, Fugazi, two seasons of Amélie et Compagnie, four seasons of Moitié Moitié, the short film Loretta’s Flowers which has made it’s rounds in the film festival circuit and the feature film Stage Fright starring Minnie Driver and rockstar legend Meatloaf. You may also recognize her from various national commercials where she was probably selling you cars, cough syrup, fast food, beans, paint or chocolate bars.
